Photo Monster is built with privacy as its foundation. We believe your photos are deeply personal. That's why we use Apple's official PhotoKit framework to process your photos right on your device. We never copy, upload, or store your photos on our own servers.

How Photo Monster Works With Your Photos

Photo Monster uses Apple's PhotoKit framework to access and organize your photos directly on your device. Your photos sync across your devices through iCloud, just like they normally do. Here's what that means:

Your photos live in your iCloud Photos library, protected by Apple's encryption. We never copy them to our servers
All scanning, duplicate detection, and categorization happens on your device through Apple's official frameworks
We do not store, cache, or retain your photos outside of Apple's ecosystem
When you delete photos through Photo Monster, the changes sync across your iCloud-connected devices

Information We Collect

Waitlist Email

If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address to notify you when Photo Monster launches. Your email is stored securely by our email service provider, Loops.so, and is used solely for Photo Monster communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics

Our website uses PostHog for privacy-friendly analytics. This helps us understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., page visits, waitlist signups). PostHog may collect:

Pages visited and time spent on our website
Referring website or link
Browser type and device information
Approximate geographic location (country/region level)

We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising purposes.

App Usage Data (Future)

When the Photo Monster app launches, we may collect anonymized, aggregate usage statistics such as the number of photos organized or storage freed. This data will never include your actual photos or personally identifiable information.
